Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a partial closure of the access road linking Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the closure, according to FAAN, is to allow the Nigerian Air Force to conduct its annual 10-kilometre walk/jog exercise on Saturday.
According to FAAN, the exercise will commence at 6:00 am, with security operatives deployed along the affected roads to direct traffic and ensure public safety.
“During this period, security personnel would be deployed along access roads to direct traffic and ensure safety,” the agency stated.
FAAN assured that the closure will not affect scheduled flights, adding, “This does not in any way disrupt airport operations, as scheduled flights would operate normally. The access roads would be completely opened immediately after the exercise.”
The authority urged passengers and other airport users to make adequate travel arrangements, as localised traffic disruptions may occur within the airport axis while the exercise is ongoing.
